About the trek

Chandernahan lake is also known as the Moon lake. This majestic lake is situated in between snowy mountains of Rohru town of Shimla district.

Trekkers Attraction -

1 ) Land of lakes (7 Lakes)
2 ) River pabbar originates from  Chandernahan the only river of Shimla district.
3 ) Waterfall above 25 meters which converts into regular flowing water of Pabbar river.
4 ) It's a birth place of Devta Shikru.His Beautiful temple is located in Rohru town.
5 ) Camping in meadows.
6 ) Tall green oak,Pine and Deodar trees
7 ) Wildflowers and herbs (Rohdenderon )
8 ) Glaciers.
9 ) Travel through Shimla,Kufri,Theog,Kothkhai, Kharapathar,Hatkoti,Rohru hill stations under Shimla district.

The best time to plan trekking to Chandernahan is the month of May to July and September to November.Lake area is covered by Ice and snow most of the time.

Day 1 - Shimla to Jhanglik village

Home stay  (acclimatization day)

Day 2 - Start from janglik  trek to Dyara Thach 

Start from janglik after breakfast and trek to Dyara Thach  (4-5 hrs) (camping at DYARA meadow) trek Grade moderate

Day 3 - DYARA Thach  to Lithum Thach

 Start from  DYARA Thach -trek to Lithum Thach  (3-4 hrs) (camping at lithum) trek Grade easy

Day 4 - lithum Thach trek to Chandernahan lake

Start from lithum Thach trek to Chandernahan lake and descend to Litham (5-6 hrs). (Camping at Litham )

Day 5 -  Janglik from Litham Thach

Descend to Janglik from Litham Thach Night stay at Jhanglik

Day 6 - Transfer to Shimla

Mandatory Documents

Original and photocopy of government photo identity card- (Passport, Aadhaar Card, Driving license or voters ID, Medical Certificate)

If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.
