Trek Information

This moderate trek starts from the picturesque village of Barsu in Uttarkashi. Barsu serves as the base for the Dayara Bugyal trek along with offering grand views of some 6000m plus peaks like Jaunli (6618m), Srikanth (6133m) as well as Draupadi Ka Danda I & II (5643m & 5770m). A little into the trek you can also spot the Gangotri Massif (I, II & III). Dayara Bugyal has been popularly called the most beautiful meadow in India giving stiff competition to Bedni Bugyal. For thousands of years Gujjars have come to these meadows to graze their cattle and bask in the magnificence of such Beauty. Nestled between great Himalayan peaks like Bandarpunch (6316m) & White Peak (6102m) this is perhaps one of the most beautiful meadows to trek to in India.

Day 1: Reach Barsu (7,400 ft.); drive 200 Km from Dehradun

Reach Barsu, 7-8 hours’ drive from Dehradun. The drive takes you through lovely forest stretches. At Barsu Village, we have our base camp for the Dayara Bugyal Trek and it is a quaint village in the Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand. Spend the night in Guest House/Camp/Home Stay. Transport will be arranged at an additional cost from Dehradun Railway station at 06:30 AM. Cost of the cab – Rs. 5,500/- per vehicle.

Day 2: Barsu (7,400 ft.) to Barnala Tal (9,500 ft. apx)

Early morning after having breakfast, trek to Barnala Tal. Barsu is the starting point of the trek to Barnala Tal through dense oak forests, this trail is around 4-5 hours long, ascending gradually. The campsite in Barnala Tal is located in a small clearing surrounded by forests. Overnight stay at Barnala Tal amidst dense and rich forests.

Day 3: Barnala Tal (9,500 ft.) to Dayara Bugyal Top (12,300 ft.) via Dayara Bugyal (11,600 ft.)

Today’s trek is quite long but not very difficult and can be completed in few hours. Reach Dayara Bugyal Top by afternoon and have packed lunch there. It is a little bit steep trail and takes around 2 - 3 hours to get Dayara Bugyal which is the end of the forests where hidden mountains Bandar Ka Poonch and Kala Nag (Black Peak) become visible. From there it takes around 1 hour to reach Dayara Buyyal Top. Spend some time and descend back to Barnala Tal on the same route for night stay.

 

Day 4: Barnala Tal (9,500 ft.) to Barsu (7,400 ft.) and Drive to Dehradun

The day is easy. Start early after having breakfast, walking to Barsu from Barnala Tal followed by some steep descending trail. It takes 2-3 hours to trek down to Barsu through dense oak forests. Transport will be arranged at an additional cost from Barsu to Dehradun Railway Station.

Mandatory Documents

Original and photocopy of government photo identity card- (Passport, Aadhaar Card, Driving license or voters ID, Medical Certificate)

If cancellations are made 30 days before the start date of the trip, 25% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

If cancellations are made 15-30 days before the start date of the trip, 50% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

If cancellations are made within 0-15 days before the start date of the trip, 100% of total tour cost will be charged as cancellation fees.

In case of unforeseen weather conditions or government restrictions, certain trips or activities may get cancelled. In such cases operator will try their best to provide an alternate feasible. However a cash refund will not be applicable for the same.
